GCSE & IGCSE Physics Equation, Formulae, Relationships and Specifications 2025–2027 (AQA, OCR, Edexcel, WJEC)

The Department for Education has confirmed that all students taking GCSE and IGCSE Physics (including combined, trilogy, and separate science entries) will continue to have access to full equation and formulae sheets in their exams from 2025 until at least 2027.

This means you do not need to memorise the long list of formulae – the official data/equation sheets provided by exam boards will be included with your exam papers. Each exam board has now published the latest versions of their formula/equation sheets. These are the same as those used in recent exam sessions, and while the dates on the documents may change for 2026 and 2027, the content will remain identical.

Below you’ll find the current downloads for formulae, equations, relationships, and specifications for each exam board:

• AQA (8463, 8464 Trilogy, 8465 Synergy) – confirmed as unchanged for 2025–2027.

• OCR (Gateway J249, Combined J250, 21st Century J259 & J260) – confirmed as unchanged for 2025–2027.

• Edexcel GCSE (1PH0 Physics, 1SC0 Combined) – identical sheets continue for 2025–2027.

• Edexcel IGCSE (4PH1 Separate, 4SD0 Double Award) – identical sheets continue for 2025–2027.
